New Years Day Results

The NFL has blessed our wonderful first of the year with a sunday full of games. Some of you will be happy and some of you (myself included) will be screaming at your tv and sobbing wondering how it could go like this.

My team: New Orleans Saints apparently forgot how to play football today until the last half of the last quarter. So thank you Saints for making my eyes water in frustration at how you could let them do that to you…

Question.. Oakland and Los Angeles you do remember you’re suppose to score in football correct? I mean if we were playing say like Golf you’d be top dog but we aren’t.

Also to the Steelers you had to go into Overtime against the browns? You’re an 11-5 team… the browns have only won 1 game this year.. That’s right they are 1-15 and you had to go into Overtime to win? Did you stay up celebrating to late last night?

At the time of this posting the GB – DET game was still going on. GB was barely ahead of DET and Rogers just couldn’t get those passes like Stafford could… so its still a toss up of who is going to win tonight.

NFL Week 1 Re-Cap

Week One NFL Scores
Game’s to Remember
vs Broncos
– If you remember nothing else about this game you will
want to remember that Peyton Manning tied the NFL record (held by 5 other QBs)
as he threw a total of 7 touchdown passes in this game. The last QB to do this
was Joe Kapp on Sept 28, 1969. That was 44 years ago. Minus the fact that the
Ravens couldn’t seem to get into the groove of the idea you’re supposed to go
into the End Zone the statistical numbers say the teams were pretty evenly
matched. Well except for the 2 interceptions that Flacco threw and the 3
fumbles (2 of which they recovered) the Broncos had.
vs Redskins
– One of the most interesting plays I’ve seen in a long
time and also showing how you play until the ref blows the whistle plays
happened within minutes of the game starting. Vick throws a lateral pass that
was tipped away by #91 Kerrigan. Which was then picked up by Washington and ran
back unchallenged for a 75 yard TOUCHDOWN!!! Even with this really cool play
which seemed to baffle everyone on the field and even I had to do a couple of
double takes watching the replay and with RG3 finally remembering how to play
football in the second half it wasn’t enough to out shine the veteran QB Vick
and his team of Eagles. Welcome to the NFL Chip Kelly (former head coach in
college for Oregon) and congrats on your first NFL Game and first NFL Win.
Who I had picked to win:

Denver – Correct

 New England – Correct
Chicago – Correct
Miami – Correct
New Orleans – Correct

Tampa Bay – Wrong

( I still don’t agree with that last penalty which is basically the only reason the Jets won the game but whatever)

Pittsburgh – Wrong
Minnesota – Wrong
Indianapolis – Correct
Seattle – Correct
Kansas City – Correct
Arizona – Wrong
Green Bay – Wrong
New York Giants – Wrong
Washington – Wrong
San Diego – Wrong

Well not too bad for a first week random picks. But now I know which teams to look out for.

MLB Wild Card 2012!

The Atlanta Braves
The St. Louis Cardinals
One of these two teams will get the honor of going into the playoffs for the World Series title. St. Louis is looking to defend their title from last years amazing games while Atlanta is looking to throw Chipper Jones a big celebration for his last year before retiring.

At 5:00 P.M. EST The one and only wild card game will begin and one of these two teams will at the end of the night be walking off to a shot at the World Series title while the other will walk away without a victory and start to prepare for next year.
In honor of This game (Because I am an Atlanta Braves fan and my Husband is a St Louis Cardinals Fan) I am doing a special give away. Here is what is included!!!
1 Polymer Clay Baseball Bat Charm
1 Baseball ribbon clip
1 Crochet hat in either dark blue & Red (Atlanta) or Red & white (St. Louis)
1 Crochet Baseball
And here is how you enter. I want you to leave a comment with who you think will win and what you think the score will be. The person closest to the actual outcome wins. It really is that simple!!!

Let the Field Goals Soar

So hop over and read my article about how NFL fans are begging for the Regular Officials to come back. And find out how the temps are messing up….

Saints Start Out Rough Without Head Coach

The New Orleans Saints are having a rocky start of the season losing
both regular season games by 8 points. Drew Brees hasn’t been able to
get his team together enough to pull through with a win yet. The New
Orleans Saints have not had a 0-2 start since 2007 which ended with a
record of 7 wins and 9 loses. Some Saints fans may have expected some
trouble when the Saints were only able to pull 2 wins out of their 5
preseason games.

has also thrown two interceptions both games. Last year Brees through a
total of 14 interceptions over 16 games, leaving him already on the
road to beating his last year stats if this continues. And it doesn’t
get better for Brees stats as he has missed a total of 46 of his 101
passes in the regular season. It is clear the Saints prefer the passing
game over the rushing game as passing clears the 300 yards and rushing
yards dwindle, 32 Rushing against Washington and 162 against Carolina.

Sunday the Saints host the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Dome. The
Chiefs have a higher rushing game average than the Saints but the Chiefs
also tend to have a decent passing game as well. Both teams will walk
into the dome 0 and 2 but one of them will walk out 1 and 2. Can the
Saints get it together and get back in the game or will it be the Chiefs
who prove to be victorious for the first time against the Saints since

(3 games have been played in regular season between New Orleans
Saints and Kansas City Chiefs from 1997 – 2011)
